North Tyneside 10K 2027 entries have closed, nearly five months early. The only way in now is an official transfer before 26 February. Race day: Sunday 28 March.
Update, 4 October 2026: entries for the North Tyneside 10K 2027 have closed. The official entry page now reads “WE ARE NOW CLOSED | We have reached our limit or the closing date has been reached”. The closing date is not until 26 February, so the race has filled its places, less than a fortnight after the council opened entries on 23 September. There are no entries on the day.
The North Tyneside 10K Road Race 2027 runs on Easter Sunday, 28 March 2027. The race starts in North Shields and finishes at St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay (North Tyneside Council, 23 September).
The council, which organises the race, said entries were expected to be in high demand, and they were.
North Tyneside 10K 2027 is full: can you still get a place?
Only by taking over an existing entry through the official system. The Entry Point page for the race keeps an Edit Details and Transfer Entry facility open until 11.59pm on Friday 26 February 2027, which lets an entrant who can no longer run pass their place to someone else. Three rules from the race’s own terms matter:
- Transfers must go through the official facility. The terms say private transfers are not permitted “for safety reasons”. A runner who receives a number without permission is disqualified, and both runners face disciplinary action from the national athletics body.
- Nothing moves after 26 February. Anyone transferring a number after the closing date is disqualified, and no deferrals are offered once race packs are posted, in the week of 8 March.
- No refunds. Places can only be deferred at the organiser’s discretion.
So if a friend or club-mate has a place they cannot use, ask them to transfer it to you before the end of February. Do not buy a number from a stranger on social media: an unofficial swap is exactly what the terms say gets a runner disqualified. The race organiser is North Tyneside Council; the entry page carries an authenticity checker and a contact form.
